The Aichi America-Japan Society initially started as “Nagoya America-Japan Society” in 1945 shortly after World War II. Since the establishment, the Society has been striving “to promote mutual friendship and understanding between the U.S. and Japan” in this region and to become “a bridge” between the two countries.
Many activities of the Society are organized in close cooperation with American Consulate Nagoya and Nagoya American Center, the two U.S. governmental institutions in Nagoya. The Society is further expanding the wave of exchange by collaborating with other organizations, such as local authorities, Nagoya International School, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan.
It has been some time since Japanese companies first moved into the U.S., and today, many Japanese companies in this region have established their operational sites and offices across the U.S. Also, nearly 250 American companies have now expanded to Aichi prefecture, and its number is steadily increasing.
As business relationship between the U.S. and Aichi is growing, more and more people in this region have experience of living in the U.S. I would like to step up our activities by creating a forum for exchanges to share as much information on U.S. business and culture as possible. Through our activities, I sincerely hope to promote mutual understanding and contribute to strengthening friendly bilateral ties.
I have no doubt that our activities will be more fruitful and enjoyable with your active participation. We welcome you to become a part of our membership, and look forward to seeing you soon.
